I bought the Xiangqi dragon set as a gift for my husband who learned
to play two years ago in order to spend time with my aging father. The set exceeded my expectations. The craftmanship is exceptional. I got a little teary-eyed when I saw how beautiful and well-made it is. Thank you!!

The board and pieces look exactly like the pictures and the seller messaged me almost immediately after purchasing to make sure the custom background of the board was what I wanted and he sent me an image of what it would look like before it got lasered on. It also came with a nice instruction booklet detailing how all the pieces are used as well as how to pronounce everything in Chinese if you didn't already know

The individual pieces need to be secured by a caring case for traveling

The Board was amazing and is one of the most beautiful wooden game boards I own or for that matter have seen definitely within the price range. The board is worth the cost easily on its own The pieces though were not what I was expecting, They were plastic figurines, quality plastic, but not worthy of the board. My experience with chinese chess is of wooden round pieces. I had a look online and see that both are used depending on the part of the world, I would have preferred immensely wooden pieces made with the symbols with the craftmanship of the board. Would have paid double the price for that. The plastic pieces lack felt on the base and feel as if used they would scratch the board. Again I can't say enough about the board its almost a piece of ART and I will treatit so. I am ordering separate unmatching wooden pieces.
